Talvivaara Mining Company Plc ("Talvivaara") has received the attached flagging notification in accordance with Chapter 2, Section 9 of the Finnish Securities Market Act from BlackRock, Inc. regarding the shares of Talvivaara on 07 September 2009.

BlackRock, Inc. holds 12,104,409 ordinary shares of Talvivaara, representing in the aggregate 4.94% percent of the issued ordinary share capital and total voting rights attached to shares in Talvivaara (under 5%).
